On learning he had Cancer, Pacific man Komiti Alainuuese fled to Samoa fearing the treatment for his illness. One year later, and with a then dramatically advanced tumour, Komiti returned to NZ and the care of Dr Cho. His story was covered by Stuff.co.nz.
Dr Cho and his colleague, plastic surgeon Dr Zac Moaveni, are the first surgeons in New Zealand to use 3D-printed jigs and templates to aid in the relocation of bone to treat a patient's Cancer. This story was covered by the NZ Herald.
